A big question of the day is whether or not their leader Tadej Poga\u010dar wants the stage today, or if he&#8217;s happy to let the break take it. They&#8217;re all back on their feet, but Lennert Van Eetvelt has yet to get riding again. The Belgian has looked strong all Tour, and might have been a candidate to get into the breakaway today.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wcp-item-content\">\n<time class=\"no-wrap live-feed-date\" datetime=\"2026-07-14T12:29:47+00:00\">2026-07-14T12:29:47.824Z<\/time><\/p>\n<p id=\"elk-b461cfa0-7f7f-11f1-87fe-232a1c79588b\">We might have our day\u2019s break &#8211; a big group of about 30 riders has got the biggest lead of the day so far, of just over 30 seconds. It\u2019s full of stellar names &#8211; Van der Poel, Healy, Baudin, Jegat, Valentin Paret-Peintre, Romo, Ion Izagirre, O\u2019Connor, Abrahamsen, Tejada, Arensman and Vauquelin are all present. Will the peloton let this one go?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wcp-item-content\">\n<time class=\"no-wrap live-feed-date\" datetime=\"2026-07-14T12:25:15+00:00\">2026-07-14T12:25:15.135Z<\/time><\/p>\n<p id=\"elk-11df3ab0-7f7f-11f1-ba0f-ddbcf839fa1a\">The battle continues to rage! That group was was brought back, and now another fresh group of attackers are trying their luck. More moves are going now, with multiple small groups ahead of the peloton but only by a few seconds each. The peloton aren&#8217;t happy with the group though and chasing hard.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wcp-item-content\">\n<time class=\"no-wrap live-feed-date\" datetime=\"2026-07-14T11:54:40+00:00\">2026-07-14T11:54:40.456Z<\/time><br \/>\n<a id=\"elk-intermediate-sprint\"\/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"article-body__section\" id=\"section-intermediate-sprint\"><span>INTERMEDIATE SPRINT<\/span><\/h3>\n<p id=\"elk-cc4d024c-7f7a-11f1-bace-114e4ddc2a9a\">Pedersen wins the intermediate sprint, after a lead out from his teammate Simmons. He was nearly defeated by Kanter, who made his move early, but just about dragged him back before the lines. Lidl-Trek are still pushing on at the front with Vacek and Simmons, and the sprint is only a few kilometres away. Girmay is also up there, but it&#8217;s unclear where the other green jersey rivals are, but Merlier won&#8217;t be competing for any points.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wcp-item-content\">\n<time class=\"no-wrap live-feed-date\" datetime=\"2026-07-14T11:43:16+00:00\">2026-07-14T11:43:16.106Z<\/time><\/p>\n<p id=\"elk-345c7220-7f79-11f1-b68b-91e6fc3d8338\">There was a split in the peloton, under Lidl\u2019s fast pace, and of all people Tadej Poga\u010dar was caught the wrong side of it. The Slovenian looked very untroubled bridging it, but did so by himself, with no teammates around him &#8211; not an ideal start to the day on such tricky terrain.<\/p>\n<p>Other GC riders are still in a group a few seconds behind, including Jonas Vingegaard.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-seasonal\"\/><\/p>\n<aside data-block-type=\"embed\" data-render-type=\"fte\" data-skip=\"dealsy\" data-widget-type=\"seasonal\" class=\"hawk-root\"\/>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wcp-item-content\">\n<time class=\"no-wrap live-feed-date\" datetime=\"2026-07-14T11:38:20+00:00\">2026-07-14T11:38:20.172Z<\/time><\/p>\n<p id=\"elk-83f7f314-7f78-11f1-8441-011b2f5a0b6a\">Lidl-Trek are using a short unclassified uphill (of which there are many in this region) to put the pressure on, with Simmons leading the peloton and Pedersen a few wheels behind. It looks like they\u2019re trying to make matters hard for his green jersey rivals, and potentially take them out of contention before the intermediate sprint.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wcp-item-content\">\n<time class=\"no-wrap live-feed-date\" datetime=\"2026-07-14T11:34:34+00:00\">2026-07-14T11:34:34.367Z<\/time><\/p>\n<p id=\"elk-fd5d0a38-7f77-11f1-94b5-79c6f2139b6f\">The peloton is back to how it was at the start of the day &#8211; all together. O&#8217;Connor has been caught, and no other attacks have gone clear for now.
