Choosing a player per position in a &#8216;This or That&#8217; format, Uthappa had to make the tough choice of leaving out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/player\/rohit-sharma\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">Rohit Sharma<\/a> from his side, in favor of Sachin Tendulkar.<\/p>\n<p>Rohit is India&#8217;s third all-time leading run-scorer in ODIs with 11,731 runs, while Tendulkar is No.1 on the list with 18,426 runs. Along with Tendulkar, Uthappa picked former captain Sourav Ganguly as his other opener.<\/p>\n<p>Ganguly is fourth all-time in ODI runs among Indian batters with 11,221 runs in 308 outings. At No.3, Uthappa went with the obvious choice of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/player\/virat-kohli\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">Virat Kohli<\/a>, who is second all-time in runs among Indian batters with 14,802 runs. Kohli is also the all-time leader in ODI centuries with 54 in 312 games.<\/p>\n<p><template id=\"also-read-articles-template\"><\/p>\n<p><\/template><\/p>\n<p>At Nos. 4 and 5, Uthappa had Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni, two of India&#8217;s key figures in their last ODI World Cup triumph in 2011. While Dhoni is one of only six Indian batters to amass over 10,000 ODI runs, Yuvraj finished with 8,609 runs and 111 wickets in his stellar ODI career.<\/p>\n<p>Uthappa went with another 2011 ODI World Cup winner, Suresh Raina, at No.6, followed by Kapil Dev over Hardik Pandya as his pace-bowling all-rounder. Kapil led India to their maiden ODI World Cup triumph in 1983 and finished his ODI career with 3,783 runs and 253 wickets.<\/p>\n<h2>Robin Uthappa picks two spinners and as many pacers to round off his all-time Indian ODI XI<\/h2>\n<p>Robin Uthappa picked Ravindra Jadeja over Ravichandran Ashwin as his spin-bowling all-rounder at No.8. The duo played a crucial role in India&#8217;s 2013 Champions Trophy win, while Jadeja also helped the side clinch the title in the 2025 edition.<\/p>\n<p>Uthappa went with Anil Kumble over Harbhajan Singh as his specialist spinner, thanks to the former&#8217;s 334 ODI wickets, the highest by an Indian.
