Ewing, Christian Scott and Nolan McLean, are the only <a data-mrf-link=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/mlb\/teams\/new_york_mets\/19\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/mlb\/teams\/new_york_mets\/19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Mets<\/a> players<span>\u00a0not &#8220;available&#8221; to advertised contenders ahead of the Aug. 3<span>\u00a0<\/span><a data-mrf-link=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/mlb\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/mlb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MLB<\/a> <span>trade deadline.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span>The fact that neither\u00a0fan-favorite<span>\u00a0<\/span><a data-mrf-link=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/mlb\/players\/francisco_lindor\/256216\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/mlb\/players\/francisco_lindor\/256216\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Francisco Lindor<\/a> nor infielder<span>\u00a0<\/span><a data-mrf-link=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/mlb\/players\/bo_bichette\/512119\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/mlb\/players\/bo_bichette\/512119\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bo Bichette<\/a> was on that list understandably raised some eyebrows among fans and other members of the baseball community. On Thursday night, MLB insider\u00a0<\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JonHeyman\/status\/2077916116135854410\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span>Jon Heyman<\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span>\u00a0of the New York Post offered more information regarding the short-term futures of Lindor and Bichette.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span><span>Could Mets realistically trade Francisco Lindor before Aug. 3?<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span><span>According to Heyman, &#8220;Lindor\u2019s still seen as a long shot to move&#8221; this summer. For an article published on Friday morning,\u00a0<\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/7448646\/2026\/07\/17\/mlb-trade-deadline-sellers-targets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jim Bowden<\/a> of The Athletic wrote that &#8220;Lindor and Bichette are probably long shots to be traded&#8221; before Aug. 3 due to &#8220;their hefty contracts.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lindor<span>\u00a0<\/span><a data-mrf-link=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/mlb\/articles\/mets_announce_francisco_lindor_contract_extension\/s1_13132_34551134\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/mlb\/articles\/mets_announce_francisco_lindor_contract_extension\/s1_13132_34551134\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">signed<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>a 10-year contract extension worth up to $341M shortly before the start of the 2021 season. He will turn 33 years old this coming November, and he missed roughly two months of action this season because of a calf injury.<\/p>\n<p>Across his first 41 games of the ongoing campaign, Lindor hit just .210 with five home runs, 12 RBI and a .654 OPS.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;No one has given any indications the Mets are shopping him, though no one has said he is off the table either,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/sny.tv\/articles\/mets-open-for-business-trade-deadline-janes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SNY&#8217;s Chelsea Janes<\/a> wrote about Lindor on Thursday. &#8220;He is an MVP-caliber player making MVP-candidate money for the next five seasons. Any team wanting to make a deal will likely need not only to be able to pay him that money, but also give the Mets a return that includes viable 2027 big-league talent. Few teams seem willing and able to meet those asks.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>What about the Bo Bichette trade rumors?\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JonHeyman\/status\/2077935976903528483\" target=\"_blank\">Heyman added<\/a> that Lindor and Bichette are &#8220;in discussions&#8221; as it pertains to possible trades, but the two also &#8220;aren\u2019t thought especially likely&#8221; to be moved ahead of the deadline. This past offseason, Bichette <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/mlb\/articles\/insider_addresses_potential_bo_bichette_trade\/s1_13132_44043805\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">signed<\/a> a three-year, $126M deal that included opt-outs after the first and second years, along with a no-trade clause, to join the Mets.<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span>&#8220;One thing to keep in mind regarding Bichette&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JonHeyman\/status\/2077942490708017560\" target=\"_blank\"><span>Heyman<\/span><\/a><span>\u00a0mentioned. &#8220;While he has complicating $42M player options for each of the next two seasons, he was already paid thanks mostly to a $40M signing bonus paid in [the] spring, more than $41M of this year\u2019s $42M salary.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>It sounds like Mets president of baseball operations<span>\u00a0<\/span>David Stearns<span>\u00a0and team<span>\u00a0<\/span>owner<span>\u00a0Steve Cohen<\/span><span>\u00a0are willing to hear offers for both Lindor and Bichette.
