Sadly, we\u2019re still not returning to <strong>Alara<\/strong>, no matter how much I beg and plead, but we <em>are<\/em> returning to some very familiar locations in the core canon sets for MTG in 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Another thing that stood out to me is that there are <strong>three canon sets<\/strong> and <strong>three Universes Beyond<\/strong> sets, instead of there being one that overpowers the other. <em>Universes Beyond<\/em> sets aren\u2019t going away, no matter how some fans feel about them. However, I\u2019m grateful that at least it\u2019s three and three, and not three and four. Here\u2019s the current schedule, as we know it, for Magic: The Gathering in 2027.<\/p>\n<p><template id=\"also-read-articles-template\"><\/p>\n<p><\/template><\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<h2>All confirmed releases for Magic: The Gathering 2027 schedule<\/h2>\n<p>In addition to learning about some incredible <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/esports\/mtg-reality-fracture-card-spoilers-magiccon-amsterdam-ajani-chandra-garruk-tinybones-revealed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">Reality Fracture<\/a> cards, we also learned the <strong>2027 schedule of product for Magic: The Gathering<\/strong>. Of course, these dates could change, but that\u2019s not something that really happens in MTG, so I wouldn\u2019t worry about that too much. Sadly, none of the <em>Universes Beyond<\/em> sets were revealed, but we do know that there are three of them. Expect the <strong>Professor at Tolarian Community College<\/strong> to love this set, because I can only imagine it\u2019s going to have some wildly overpowered Merfolk.<\/p>\n<p>It also brings back <strong>Homarids<\/strong>, which I appreciate as a <em>Fallen Empires<\/em> enjoyer. An Omenpath will open up over the skies of Towashi, and the citizens will have to deal with the giant monsters of <strong>Ikoria<\/strong>, as they begin to rampage. It\u2019s an interesting war between two very different planes, but it\u2019s fitting because \u201cgiant monsters\u201d. Will we see another Godzilla collab?<\/p>\n<p>The final revealed and named set for <strong>Magic: The Gathering in 2027 is Zhalfir<\/strong>! It\u2019s a plane that was phased out of existance for a very long time, where it was once connected to the plane of Dominaria. Home to Teferi, it is now its own plane, in the aftermath of the <strong>New Phyrexia invasion (the previous storyline)<\/strong>. We can confirm that <strong>Teferi Akosa<\/strong> will return to his home plane, and perhaps that means we\u2019ll get a new version of the popular <strong>Hero of Dominaria when this set launches on October 1, 2027<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"image\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"sk-app-thumbnail\" alt=\"Zhalfir is officially its own plane, and we&amp;#039;ll be visiting it next year! (Image via Wizards of the Coast)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This is such an exciting reveal, and while it\u2019s not one of the planes I was personally hoping for, I loved the lore of the earliest days of Dominaria. Getting to go this setting in a more official way, with this Magic: The Gathering set is a very exciting prospect.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, we\u2019ll be receiving three full <em>Universes Beyond<\/em> sets, and we personally have no idea what these could be. I\u2019d be okay with another <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/esports\/mtg-all-final-fantasy-commander-precons\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">Final Fantasy<\/a> set, personally, or you know, what about something wild like Dragon Ball? I\u2019m keeping an open mind on whatever sets get revealed.
