The forward <a href=\"https:\/\/equalizersoccer.com\/2026\/07\/18\/stars-huitema-exits-first-half-with-left-leg-injury\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">suffered the injury on July 18 against Angel City FC<\/a>. She was substituted off in the 28th minute.<\/p>\n<p>The Stars announced that Huitema will undergo surgery, although a specific date was not given. After surgery, she will \u201cbegin her recovery process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Chicago Stars wish Jordyn a speedy recovery with full support from the club and look forward to her return to the pitch,\u201d the club stated, via a press release.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DbDxzpBDqfD\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&amp;igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">In a post on her personal social media account<\/a>, Huitema said that tearing her ACL has been \u201cheartbreaking.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned=\"\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DbDxzpBDqfD\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:540px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\"\/>\n<p>Huitema began her career in France at the age of 18, signing with Paris Saint-Germain. She made 10 starts in 45 appearances, scoring six goals and providing five assists. In France, she won the Division 1 F\u00e9minine title in 2021, and won the Coupe de France F\u00e9minine in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>She then joined the Seattle Reign in 2022, remaining with the club for four seasons. In Seattle, she made 58 starts in 70 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing five assists. In 2022, she won the NWSL Shield with the Reign. <\/p>\n<p>Ahead of the current NWSL season, she joined the Stars, where she has started all 12 of her appearances. Huitema has scored four goals.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x\"\/>\n<p>Huitema has made 98 appearances for the Canadian women\u2019s national team, scoring 24 goals. She owns a gold medal from the Tokyo Olympic Games, along with two silver medals from the Concacaf W Championship in 2018 and 2022.
