Zanzibar + Paris\u2764\ufe0f.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><template id=\"also-read-articles-template\"><\/p>\n<p><\/template><\/p>\n<p>Before visiting Zanzibar, the newlyweds spent time at Ol Donyo Lodge in Kenya&#8217;s Chyulu Hills. The lodge is located in Chyulu Hills National Park and is known for its safari experiences. It was the couple&#8217;s first honeymoon stop after their wedding in France.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this offseason Draisaitl and Desjardins also traveled to the Hamptons with Oilers captain <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/us\/nhl\/connor-mcdavid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">Connor McDavid<\/a> and his wife Lauren. Draisaitl and Desjardins were married on Aug. 2, 2025 at Ch\u00e2teau d&#8217;Estoublon in Provence, France. The honeymoon comes during the NHL offseason before the Oilers begin preparations for the 2025-26 season.<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<h2>How Leon Draisaitl performed during the 2025-26 NHL season<\/h2>\n<p>While Leon Draisaitl has spent the offseason traveling with his wife the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/us\/nhl\/edmonton-oilers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">Edmonton<\/a> Oilers forward will soon turn his attention back to hockey after another productive season.<\/p>\n<p>The 30 year old finished the 2025-26 regular season with 35 goals and 62 assists for 97 points in 65 games. Although a lower-body injury kept him out of the final stretch of the regular season, he still ranked among the NHL&#8217;s top scorers with 1.49 points per game.<\/p>\n<p>Leon Draisaitl reached several milestones during the season. He scored the 400th goal of his NHL career in Edmonton&#8217;s season opener against the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/us\/nhl\/calgary-flames\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">Calgary Flames<\/a> and later became the fourth-fastest active player to reach 1,000 career points after assisting on a Zach Hyman goal in December.<\/p>\n<p>He also captained Team Germany at the 2026 Winter Olympics, leading the team with seven points in five games. After returning from injury for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Draisaitl led the Oilers in postseason scoring despite the team&#8217;s first-round exit.<\/p>\n<p>Leon Draisaitl is entering the second season of the eight-year, $112 million contract extension he signed with Edmonton in September 2024.
