Former NFL analyst Ryan Clark was laid off by ESPN amid the network’s massive layoffs last week. The former NFL player was informed about the decision while he was on the air during \u201cNFL Live\u201d on Monday.<\/p>\n
Clark addressed his departure from ESPN, where he worked for almost a decade since his retirement. The former analyst broke down while discussing his layoff on the latest episode of his “The Pivot” podcast.<\/p>\n

So, my thing is, I just don’t know how real this is. He might have real feelings. I don’t know, but I’ve watched him over the years. Smith<\/a>.<\/p>\n The former analyst accused ESPN of firing him without any cause and used the layoffs to camouflage it.<\/p>\n \u201cI wasn\u2019t laid off,” Clark said. “I was fired. They\u2019re using layoffs as a cover and a camouflage for what they already intended on doing. “But there was no cause for it. So because there was no cause for it, you couldn\u2019t just fire me. So you had to wait for the layoff so you could camouflage it and veil it.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Although Clark denied having any issues with Peter Schrager, NFL insider Andrew Marchand revealed that Clark’s on-air conflict with Schrager \u201cplayed a role” in his departure from ESPN.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
