A former AEW star could soon get an opportunity in WWE. The company is holding another round of talent tryouts during SummerSlam week in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with several independent wrestlers expected to be evaluated.<\/p>\n
Fightful Select<\/a><\/em> reported that KJ Orso, formerly known as Fuego Del Sol in AEW, will be participating in the multi-day tryout camp being held alongside SummerSlam 2026 festivities. He made frequent appearances on AEW Dark and AEW Dark: Elevation throughout the company’s residency at Daily’s Place before earning a full-time contract in August 2021. He remained with All Elite Wrestling<\/a> until his contract expired in 2023.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/template><\/p>\n Del Sol reinvented himself after leaving AEW. Following a Career vs. Mask Match loss to Atticus Cogar in April 2025, he removed his mask and began competing under his real name, KJ Orso.<\/a> He has competed consistently on the independent scene since, most notably for GCW.<\/p>\n The report also noted that the tryouts feature a mix of high-profile independent wrestlers and standout athletes from various promotions, including MLW’s Josh Bishop.<\/p>\n Now, the 30-year-old star has another major opportunity in front of him. If he impresses during the SummerSlam weekend tryouts, the former AEW star could soon find himself beginning the next chapter of his career in the Stamford-based promotion.<\/p>\n Tatanka recently shared some exciting personal news, revealing that his son, Joseph, has officially earned a WWE tryout during SummerSlam weekend.<\/p>\n The legend took to social media to celebrate both of his sons’ progress in professional wrestling. He reflected on how they once attended the Stamford-based promotion’s premium live events as fans before beginning their own training at Dungeon 2.0.<\/p>\n In his post, Tatanka confirmed that Joseph has been invited to participate in an official WWE tryout<\/a>, while his younger son, Jeremiah, is continuing his training and hopes to follow the same path in the future.<\/p>\n “So proud of our boys! There’s nothing you both cannot accomplish! From visiting at a PPV with The Usos and Superstars of the WWE years ago to now training at the Dungeon 2.0, where Joseph has received an official try-out at SUMMERSLAM and Jeremiah will be right behind him since he’s only 17 years old currently,” the veteran wrote.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n It will be interesting to see what all surprises Triple H<\/a> and his creative team have in store for fans during SummerSlam weekend.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
