Whilst a huge amount of focus has been placed on Newcastle United<\/a>‘s departures and missed targets, the hierarchy have quietly been completing shrewd business in the transfer market.<\/p>\n

Four additions have already been completed at St James’ Park, with the Magpies’ recruitment team already spending \u00a3112m to strengthen Eddie Howe<\/a>‘s squad.<\/p>\n

Ewen Jaouen, Bazoumana Tour\u00e9, Sean Steur and Aladji Bamba have all arrived on Tyneside this summer, with the average age of the additions just 19 years and five months.<\/p>\n

\n Why Jacob Murphy’s time is up at Newcastle United<\/strong>

Newcastle’s rise up the Premier League in recent years has seen the club feature in the Champions League twice – with winger Jacob Murphy<\/a> playing a huge role in their success.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old, who’s been on the books since 2017, has been a consistent first-team member for the Magpies since 2020\/21 – subsequently amassing 223 appearances across all competitions.<\/p>\n

However, last season, the Englishman demonstrated signs that he was struggling to match the levels he\u2019s produced in recent seasons – leading to questions about his long-term future at the club.<\/p>\n

His failed back heel against non-league side Gateshead angered fans and led to calls for the 31-year-old to be sold, but Howe will no doubt see him as a key experienced member of his squad.<\/p>\n

The winger even wore the armband for the aforementioned clash, which certainly highlights the manager\u2019s trust and faith in the forward despite the concerns of the Magpies faithful.<\/p>\n

Whilst Murphy has no doubt handed the fans moments to cherish at St James’, his career has massively stagnated in recent times – which should lead to a potential sale this summer.<\/p>\n

Should Murphy be sold by Howe and Co this window, Newcastle would undoubtedly need to delve back into the market to try and land added attacking reinforcements.<\/p>\n

Countless options have been discussed in recent months, with Toure a player who’s already completed his move to Tyneside ahead of the 2026\/27 campaign.<\/p>\n

However, it appears the Magpies are continuing with their youthful recruitment drive, as Real Betis winger Abde Ezzalzouli has once again emerged on their radar.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been reported by Spanish outlet AS that Howe\u2019s side are the leading candidates to secure his signature this summer, with AS Roma another side monitoring his progress.<\/p>\n

They also state that the Moroccan international has a \u20ac60m (\u00a351m) release clause within his contract and would be open to the idea of a move to the Premier League this window.<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen how much the Magpies will be willing to spend this window after their recent \u00a3112m spending spree, but it’s safe to say they would be landing a top talent with a move for Ezzalzouli.<\/p>\n

His stats from his recent campaign in LaLiga highlight his tremendous quality within attacking areas, which could spell the end for Murphy on Tyneside.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old registered a staggering tally of 18 combined goals and assists in Spain’s top-flight last term, subsequently ending the year with 13 more contributions than the current Magpies winger.<\/p>\n

Such a tally was the third-highest of any player in LaLiga who doesn\u2019t play for Real Madrid or Barcelona – further highlighting his impressive ability within the final third.<\/p>\n

Ezzalzouli’s talent with the ball also stretched into chance creation, which saw the youngster average 0.5 big chances created per 90 – a tally over two times higher than Murphy.<\/p>\n

The aforementioned figure also placed him in the top 15% of all attackers within Europe\u2019s top-five leagues – which could see Howe\u2019s men land a needed creative spark within forward areas.<\/p>\n

The Betis star ranked highly for successful dribbles and fouls won per 90, subsequently demonstrating his constant threat to the opposition when he\u2019s in full flow.<\/p>\n

He completed 1.6 successful dribbles and won 2.8 fouls per 90, which, like his chances created, also placed him above 90% of other attackers in Spain’s top division.<\/p>\n

Spending \u00a351m on the Moroccan star would be yet another huge deal for Newcastle this summer, but it would see them land a player who\u2019s on a huge upward trajectory.<\/p>\n
