ESPN Chiefs reporter Nate Taylor observed Allen &#8220;shaking his head and putting his jersey over his face&#8221; while being carted off the practice field following a special teams rep.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/49500558\/2026-kansas-city-chiefs-training-camp-cyrus-allen-patrick-mahomes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Earlier in the day<\/a>, Taylor wrote about Allen&#8217;s strong first impression, which included being on the receiving end of a pass from Patrick Mahomes on a fade route along the sideline.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Allen showed the body control to turn away from [cornerback Nohl] Williams and catch the ball away from his body while saying in bounds,&#8221; Taylor wrote.<\/p>\n<p>With suspect depth at wide receiver, Allen had a chance to quickly rise the depth chart with a continued strong summer.
