It has a random chance to appear anywhere on the map, and if you spot it, you can interact with it to secure the purchase. If another player claims the pet, you can engage in a bidding war before they escort the pet to their farm to try to add it to your collection instead. Upon doing so for the first time, you will be starting a fresh farm separate from the version in the main game.
