According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Chelsea are eyeing up a potential move to sign Martin Zubimendi from rivals Arsenal<\/a>, with Alonso personally pushing for the midfielder\u2019s signature. <\/p>\n

The report states that Alonso actually wanted Zubimendi for Real Madrid last summer and is now once again backing a move for the midfielder at Chelsea, however, Madrid, after potentially missing out on Manchester City\u2019s Rodri, could also be looking at the Gunners man.<\/p>\n

Arsenal’s recent signing of Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United could potentially open the door, however, Chelsea aren’t going to get him on the cheap.<\/p>\n

The Gunners have no intention of selling Zubimendi for less than \u20ac90m (\u00a377m), 12 months on from his move to the Emirates from Real Sociedad for around \u20ac70m. <\/p>\n
