A moment of jubilation quickly turned into a heart-stopping moment as Coritiba star Jacy plummeted down a tunnel while celebrating a disallowed goal on Sunday (AEST).<\/p>\n
The 29-year-old hopped over the advertising boards but soon disappeared down a chute built into the playing surface, that runs to the away dressing room.<\/p>\n
The tunnel is normally covered, but was opened by ground staff as halftime approached, just moments before Jacy thought he had put Coritiba 2-0 up.<\/p>\n
In a terrifying moment after wheeling away in celebration, Jacy hurtled the barrier only to realise he had nowhere but down to go. <\/p>\n
Vision of the frightening moment shows a security guard put his hands to his head as Jacy descended down the tunnel as teammates raced over to check on their star player. <\/p>\n
The defender was helped up and received brief treatment behind the goal before hobbling back onto the field.<\/p>\n
If he wasn\u2019t feeling sorry for himself already, the goal was then ruled out by VAR for offside. <\/p>\n
You can watch the heart-stopping moment in the player above.<\/b><\/p>\n Jacy managed to soldier on for the remainder of the first half before succumbing to his injuries early in the second half. <\/p>\n He was then spotted with ice on his ankle as Coritiba managed to scrape home with a 2-1 over last-placed Chapecoense in Brazil\u2019s first division.<\/p>\n Speaking about the moment after the game, Jacy described it as feeling like falling from a building.<\/p>\n \u201cYou know when you dream that you\u2019re falling from a building? It was just like that,\u201d he told Desimpedidos. <\/p>\n However, the talking point from the game was Jacy\u2019s tumble, and incredibly it isn\u2019t the first time it has happened.<\/p>\n In 2014, striker Joel also became a victim of the dangerous chute during Coritiba\u2019s clash with Sao Paulo. <\/p>\n After scoring a goal for Coritiba, he also jumped the advertising board only to find himself falling down the tunnel.<\/p>\n Incredibly, on that occasion, he was helped up by the same security guard who was on the scene when Jacy took a tumble on the weekend.<\/p>\n And fans couldn\u2019t believe both that coincidence and what they had just witnessed.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s one detail that makes it even more unbelievable that Jacy repeats the jump in the tunnel: the security guard who tries to prevent the jump IS THE SAME ONE!
