Months before Kansas City Chiefs<\/a> tight end Travis Kelce<\/a> and entertainment superstar Taylor Swift<\/a> celebrated their wedding at Madison Square Garden in New York City this past July, Kelce confirmed<\/a> that he was returning to the Chiefs for what many assume will be the last season of his playing career.\u00a0<\/p>\n For a Casino Guru News piece published on Tuesday, NFL<\/a> insider Jason La Canfora spoke with one unnamed NFL advance scout who shared a worrisome assessment regarding what Kelce will be able to offer the Chiefs this coming fall.\u00a0<\/p>\n “Kelce is done,” the scout told La Canfora.<\/a> “That\u2019s over. What you saw last year \u2013 that\u2019s what he is.”<\/p>\n Kelce led<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>the Chiefs last season with 76 receptions, 108 targets and 851 receiving yards. Over 17 games, the future Hall of Famer tallied five touchdown catches.\u00a0<\/p>\n That said, some wondered even before the 2025 campaign got underway if Father Time was catching up with Kelce. He’s now a year older, and he will turn 37 years old this coming October.\u00a0<\/p>\n Meanwhile, stories<\/a> throughout the offseason linked the Chiefs with big-name receivers such as A.J. Brown<\/a> and Stefon Diggs<\/a>. Brown is now with the New England Patriots<\/a>, while Diggs recently<\/a> joined the Washington Commanders.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n Fair or not, the perception exists that the Chiefs didn’t do enough to improve their offense this offseason. During a chat with La Canfora, one-time NFL MVP and current analyst Rich Gannon expressed confidence that head coach Andy Reid<\/a> will get the most out of the offensive talent on the Kansas City roster.\u00a0<\/p>\n “Andy will be honest, and he\u2019ll address those concerns, and he\u2019ll find a way to get it fixed in every room,” Gannon told La Canfora. “They have time. With Kelce, he\u2019ll manage that workload and be careful with him. Andy is so good with that. They have tremendous continuity there on the coaching staff across offense, defense and special teams. They are going to be formidable.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n That’s a bold take, as nobody knows in August how Chiefs quarterback\u00a0<\/span>Patrick Mahomes<\/a> will play coming off the torn ACL and torn LCL he suffered in December 2025.
