Chelsea<\/a> have made enquiries about a deal to sign Senegalese defensive midfielder Lamine Camara from Monaco this summer, according to Footmercato<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Camara is another exciting talent currently making a mark in Europe after coming through Senegal\u2019s prestigious G\u00e9n\u00e9ration Foot academy, which has also produced Sadio Man\u00e9, Isma\u00efla Sarr and Pape Matar Sarr.<\/p>\n Interestingly, the quartet all followed the same career path, joining Metz youth teams in France, where they impressed before securing big-money moves away from the French club.<\/p>\n Camara first joined the Metz B team in February 2023, and after making an impression, he made his first-team debut two months later in the 3\u20130 victory over Bordeaux in Ligue 2.<\/p>\n While he featured sparingly in the remaining month of that season, he became a regular in the starting lineup following the club\u2019s promotion to Ligue 1 for the 2023-24 season, where he made 31 appearances before joining Monaco the following season.<\/p>\n Since his move to Monaco, the 22-year-old has established himself as one of the most exciting midfielders in France, particularly last season, when he won a sky-high 6.02 duels per 90 minutes in Ligue 1.<\/p>\n It\u2019s no surprise his performances have drawn keen interest, with Footmercato<\/em> reporting that Chelsea have made enquiries over a deal to sign Camara this summer.<\/p>\n The report adds that Xabi Alonso\u2019s side appreciate the defensive midfielder\u2019s profile, and the Blues\u2019 scouts have now placed him at the top of their transfer<\/a> shortlist.<\/p>\n While the London giants are expected to monitor the situation closely, the club must first offload at least one midfielder before making a move for Camara, Footmercato<\/em> adds.<\/p>\n However, Chelsea are set to face stern competition from Manchester United<\/a> and Liverpool<\/a>, while Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace, who have already submitted a formal offer, are also in the race for Camara, as per the French outlet.<\/p>\n Amid swirling transfer rumours surrounding Enzo Fernandez, it is understandable why Chelsea are exploring a move for Camara as a potential partner for Moises Caicedo heading into the next campaign.
