(Photo by Josep LAGO \/ AFP)<\/span><span>Source: AFP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>And he departs with his stocks arguably never higher.<\/p>\n<p>Torres produced his best season in a Barcelona shirt in 2025-26, scoring 21 goals and adding three assists from 49 appearances across all competitions as Hansi Flick\u2019s side retained the La Liga title.<\/p>\n<p>Sixteen of those goals came in La Liga, with Torres sharing the Zarra Trophy with teammate Lamine Yamal as the competition\u2019s leading Spanish goalscorer.<\/p>\n<p>Torres etched his name into Spanish football history at last month\u2019s World Cup, coming off the bench to score the 106th-minute winner as Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 after extra time in the final.<\/p>\n<p>The goal secured Spain its second World Cup crown and capped a remarkable few months for Torres before his move to Paris.<\/p>\n<p>He now leaves Barcelona having made 207 appearances for the club, scoring 65 goals and providing seven assists.<\/p>\n<p>Torres also collected seven major trophies during his time in Catalonia, including three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and three Spanish Super Cups.<\/p>\n<p>His move to Paris will also reunite him with PSG boss Luis Enrique, who previously coached Torres with the Spanish national team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m delighted to be beginning a new adventure at such an ambitious club as Paris St Germain,\u201d Torres said after completing the switch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d like to thank President Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Luis Campos and coach Luis Enrique for giving me the opportunity to join the team, which I hope to help win as many trophies as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Luis Enrique welcomed the addition after a summer which has already seen Portuguese striker Goncalo Ramos depart PSG for AC Milan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am happy, of course, I think we are improving our team,\u201d Luis Enrique said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has been a transfer window with players leaving, and right now it is important to find this type of player and we want to continue improving.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are always open to improving the team.
