Tottenham<\/a> Hotspur are reportedly planning to make a move to sign Aston Villa<\/a> star Emiliano Mart\u00ednez, as per Football Insider<\/span><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n Since moving to Villa Park from Arsenal<\/a>, the 33-year-old has been an undisputed starter over the years, helping his side win the Europa League<\/a> last campaign.<\/p>\n In 32 Premier League<\/a> appearances, the South American registered a solitary assist and kept seven clean sheets with a 71% save rate last season.<\/p>\n Alongside showcasing his qualities in club football, Mart\u00ednez has enjoyed great success on the international stage with Argentina, winning a World Cup and two Copa America titles.<\/p>\n Now, Football Insider<\/em> state that after recently signing Zion Suzuki from Parma, Aston Villa are open to cashing-in on Mart\u00ednez before the September 1st transfer<\/a> deadline.<\/p>\n Spurs are planning to sign the veteran goalkeeper after recently letting Guglielmo Vicario join Juventus. Roberto De Zerbi\u2019s side have already signed Martin Dubravka in this window and also have Antonin Kinsky.<\/p>\n But the report state that Tottenham want a more established No.1; as a result, they want the Aston Villa star, with his existing deal set to run until 2029.<\/p>\n Mart\u00ednez is a 6ft 5in tall right-footed goalkeeper. He is comfortable playing out from the back, good in the air, can play the sweeper-keeper role, and is an excellent shot-stopper.<\/p>\n The former Arsenal star is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and can still play at the highest level for a few more years at least.
