Ronaldo make 1st pre-game speech | 00:41<\/p>\n<p><amp-analytics type=\"adobeanalytics\" id=\"adobeanalytics\" class=\"i-amphtml-layout-fixed i-amphtml-layout-size-defined\" style=\"width:1px;height:1px;\" i-amphtml-layout=\"fixed\"\/><\/div>\n<p><b>WILL ARSENAL GO BACK-TO-BACK?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The champions are the overwhelming favourites to go back-to-back after a statement <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com.au\/football\/premier-league\/premier-league-2026-arsenal-defeat-manchester-city-30-for-community-shield-title-score-after-24-seconds-rodri-transfer-to-barcelona-sealed-latest-news\/news-story\/82563964178ec8ffbea2612a6ff90993\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">3-0 Community Shield victory against Manchester City in Cardiff<\/a> on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>City were Arsenal\u2019s title rivals last campaign and even though Mikel Arteta\u2019s men held firm to end the club\u2019s 22-year title drought, scars still lingered.<\/p>\n<p>City defeated them in the League Cup final at Wembley and took all three points at the Etihad late in the season before briefly going top of the table.<\/p>\n<p>So, the demolition job at the Millennium Stadium, which began with a Riccardo Calafiori goal in the opening minute, was widely viewed as changing of the guard.<\/p>\n<p>With Pep Guardiola leaving, Liverpool starting a new era under former Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola and doubts about how Manchester United will handle having European football on their calendar again, most experts are backing Arsenal to be champions once again &#8211; even if they failed to sign Brazil and Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just can\u2019t see anybody stopping Arsenal. They\u2019ll win it quite comfortably. Today we\u2019ve seen it, we\u2019ve changed it and we brought other qualities in different moments of the game. What Manchester United have had for the last six months, need that for another 12 months of not being the circus, not being the story all the time, and Carrick brings you that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith Carrick\u2026 there\u2019s no circus around United,\u201d Carragher added. \u201cIt feels very calm. He came in, calmed everything down, got Champions League football. (Photo by Charles McQuillan\/Getty Images)<\/span><span>Source: Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The circus may roll back into town, however, with the spotlight shining on a few United stars.<\/p>\n<p> Andrey Santos from Chelsea and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa will bolster the midfield and will come with high expectations.<\/p>\n<p>But the biggest focus will almost certainly be on the returning Marcus Rashford.<\/p>\n<p>After he was banished by Amorim and spent long spells at Barcelona and Aston Villa, the academy product is back with United.<\/p>\n<p>The 28-year-old attracts plenty of attention in the English press and the focus on him led to a feisty exchange between Carragher and United great Gary Neville on The Overlap podcast.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCan we do a podcast without mentioning Rashford?\u201d Carragher said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStop it. Oh my God. It\u2019s like the Trent [Alexander-Arnold] and Rashford\u2026 like a little part of the podcast. The Trent part or the Rashford part.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rashford replied to the clip in a post on X, saying: \u201cThanks, Jamie. They were decent at the back, not bad up front &#8211; especially when Harry Kane and Dejan Kulusevski were there &#8211; but never had a dominant midfielder.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI look at the midfielders they\u2019ve bought now and they\u2019re going to be a real handful for a lot of teams. They\u2019ve shored up defensively.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s funny how football works. Last season, Spurs were virtually relegated and they went to Aston Villa, who could have near-on sent them down. It\u2019s not something that I can speculate on.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I just hope that there is a solution very quickly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Premier League chief executive Richard Masters also addressed the \u201chuge complex\u201d case, which relates to City\u2019s alleged failure to provide accurate financial information, to comply with financial fair plays rules, breaches of profitability and sustainability rules as well as failure to co-operate with the Premier League\u2019s investigation from 2018 to 2023.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI do accept it\u2019s taking longer than expected, and I understand that people want to find out as soon as possible what\u2019s going on, but I simply can\u2019t provide that,\u201d Masters said.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cOur rules are very clear &#8211;
