Manchester United<\/a> have reportedly been in contact over a deal to sign Racing Santander defender Jorge Salinas, as per TEAMtalk<\/span><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n The 19-year-old started his youth career at Marina Sport before spending time with Monte and Bansander. He joined Los Verdiblancos\u2019 academy at the age of 12.<\/p>\n After rising through their youth system, he made his first-team debut a couple of years ago before establishing himself as a regular starter last campaign.<\/p>\n In 33 La Liga 2 appearances, the Spaniard registered seven assists and kept as many clean sheets last term. Moreover, he helped his side gain promotion.<\/p>\n Salinas helped Spain win the U19 European Championship during the summer. He even showed glimpses of his qualities in the opening La Liga encounter against Villarreal last weekend.<\/p>\n Now, TEAMtalk<\/em> claim that Man Utd have been keeping a close eye on Salinas\u2019 development since last term and even watched him for Spain U19.<\/p>\n Having been impressed by his displays, United have been in contact with Racing Santander and the player\u2019s representatives over a potential move this summer.<\/p>\n With the player\u2019s existing deal set to run until 2029, Los Verdiblancos aren\u2019t in any rush to sell him, but he has a \u00a314m [\u20ac16m] release clause, as per the report.<\/p>\n However, TEAMtalk state that Man Utd will have to overcome stiff competition to finalise the operation, as Barcelona<\/a> and Atletico Madrid have also expressed their interest in him.
