Earlier this month, Dallas Cowboys<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>quarterback Dak Prescott<\/a> suggested that moves made by Cowboys owner and general manager\u00a0<\/span>Jerry Jones<\/a> throughout the offseason are why Prescott has embraced<\/a> a “Super Bowl or bust” mentality heading into the 2026 season.<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n While speaking with reporters on Thursday, Prescott expanded on why he’s confident the Cowboys could end their championship drought this coming winter.\u00a0<\/p>\n “I can\u2019t give enough credit, honestly, to [second-year head coach Brian Schottenheimer] and the Joneses,” Prescott said, per Nick Harris<\/a> of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “I don\u2019t think I\u2019d be saying the goals and saying them as confidently and trying to manifest without the things that they\u2019ve done, the decisions they\u2019ve made, the signings they have [made], the extensions they\u2019ve given to certain guys. They understand what we\u2019re trying to do and the urgency in it. I think it\u2019s as much as Jerry ever has in my tenure here.”\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Specifically, Jones hired<\/a> former\u00a0<\/span>Philadelphia Eagles\u00a0<\/a>defensive passing game coordinator and defensive backs coach Christian Parker to replace often-criticized defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus this past winter. The Cowboys then made numerous roster\u00a0<\/span>additions<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0to bolster their defense.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Most recently, Dallas\u00a0<\/span><\/span>signed<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0veteran pass-rusher\u00a0<\/span>Von Miller<\/a> this week. Even after that transaction became official, Jones\u00a0<\/span><\/span>teased<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0that he could make a “substantive” move to land a defensive player before the in-season trade deadline arrives in November.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n According to the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Cowboys’<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0website, Prescott said on Thursday that he feels the team has enjoyed a “successful” training camp.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n “You can’t hang your hat on everything we did is exactly what we’re going to do, we’re going to move forward and this is the team and we don’t need to get any better, because that’s absolutely not true. We’ve still got two more weeks of training camp,” Prescott added. “I’d say a successful start to training camp, right where we need to be in the sense of growing.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n The Cowboys have not played in an NFC Championship Game since they won the Super Bowl in January 1996, and Prescott has<\/a> a career record<\/span> of 2-5 as a postseason starter.
