The Washington Commanders\u00a0<\/a>created an intriguing dynamic when they placed\u00a0Stefon Diggs<\/a> alongside Terry McLaurin\u00a0<\/a>in their receiving corps. Two accomplished veterans now share one offense, potentially creating some healthy competition for targets and recognition.<\/p>\n McLaurin does not appear threatened by the new arrangement. If anything, he sees Diggs as someone capable of pushing him\u00a0<\/a>to become an even better player.<\/p>\n During an appearance on the Commanders\u2019 \u201cNext Man Up,\u201d McLaurin offered a colorful description of his early relationship with Diggs. The similarities apparently became obvious once the two receivers started working together.<\/p>\n \u201cI kind of think of that Spider-Man meme where they\u2019re both pointing at each other,\u201d McLaurin said. \u201cWe\u2019re the same guy on the field.\u201d<\/p>\n McLaurin explained that both receivers bring passion, leadership and considerable energy to the offense. Neither player has built a career by quietly blending into the background.<\/p>\n Diggs has earned four Pro Bowl selections and one first-team All-Pro honor during his career. McLaurin has made the Pro Bowl\u00a0<\/a>twice while consistently producing despite Washington\u2019s revolving door at quarterback.<\/p>\n Putting those personalities together could have created a struggle over status. McLaurin instead believes Diggs has provided another standard against which he can evaluate himself.<\/p>\n \u201cHaving a guy who\u2019s like-minded like that, who\u2019s played at the highest level, who\u2019s been All Pro, Pro Bowl and played in the biggest situations, that helps me to measure myself up to where I am in my game,\u201d McLaurin said. \u201cI\u2019m an elite player as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n That last sentence was not accidental.
