After dominating the 10,000 meters at the European Championships in Birmingham, the Swedish athlete now has a new challenge: he will make his marathon debut at the New York City Marathon, on November 1.

At 31 years old, Almgren arrives at the distance with extraordinary credentials in long-distance events. He is the European half-marathon record holder with 58:41, a mark set in Valencia in 2025, and he also boasts a spectacular 26:45 for 10 kilometers, a time he has achieved twice this year, in Valencia and Castellón.
