But first, we have to look back at Southeast star Kinley Rasmus\u2019 incredible run and what lies ahead for the history-making 12 year old. Nothing better than throwing like a girl.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\ud83d\udc51 Rasmus ties LLWS strikeout record, breaks hits mark by a girl: <\/strong>Move over, Shohei Ohtani. Before Rasmus\u2019 Alabama squad was eliminated on Wednesday, the two-way star notched five hits and 14 strikeouts, giving her the most hits by a girl in a single tourney and matching none other than WPBL star Mo\u2019ne Davis for most Ks by a girl.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Just the 25th girl to play in the LLWS, Rasmus has quite the sports pedigree: Her uncle is former Toronto Blue Jay Colby Rasmus, her dad and assistant coach, Cory, also played in the majors, and her mom, Jill, played college softball at Southern Miss. All in the family.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\ud83d\udc40 What\u2019s next: <\/strong>Rasmus\u2019 LLWS journey might be done, but her sports career is just getting started. She\u2019s expected to be a top NCAA softball prospect in the class of 2032 <em>and <\/em>she\u2019ll be a starter for her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/high-school\/flag-football\/2026\/08\/22\/llws-star-kinley-rasmus-central-nations-top-flag-football-team\/91410883007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">top-ranked high school flag football team<\/a> this season as a seventh grader. As her head coach for both sports said, \u201c&#8230;there\u2019s nothing she can\u2019t do.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>That\u2019s part of the beauty of Rasmus\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/7542139\/2026\/08\/26\/kinley-rasmus-little-league-world-series-ends\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LLWS legacy<\/a>: She left an indelible mark on the tourney and now, thanks to the growth of girls\u2019 and women\u2019s sports, she has a plethora of opportunities ahead.
