Everton<\/a> have reportedly launched a formal proposal to sign AS Monaco star Folarin Balogun, as per transfer<\/a> journalist Fabrizio Romano<\/span><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Toffees started the new campaign with Thierno Barry and Beto as striker options. Following a disappointing debut campaign in the Premier League<\/a>, Barry has enjoyed a promising start this season, making five goal contributions in three matches.<\/p>\n

However, Beto has displayed inconsistent performances since joining from Udinese a few years ago. In 40 appearances across all competitions, the 28-year-old made 11 goal contributions last term.<\/p>\n

Now, on X<\/span><\/a>, Romano<\/em> states that Everton want a new striker late in this window as Beto is set to join Fiorentina in a \u20ac17m deal. The Toffees have identified Balogun as a serious option and have already launched a formal proposal to seal the deal.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old has entered the final two years of his current contract and is valued at around \u00a343m by Transfermarkt<\/span><\/a>. So, the Ligue 1 side are in a strong position to demand a big fee for him.<\/p>\n

After moving to Stade Louis II from Arsenal<\/a> in 2023, Balogun initially took time to settle into his new surroundings before showcasing his productivity last campaign.<\/p>\n

Balogun to Everton<\/h2>\n

In 43 appearances across all competitions, he scored 19 goals and registered four assists. Having proven his worth in Ligue 1, Balogun enjoyed a promising World Cup with USA, scoring three goals in four appearances.<\/p>\n

He is a striker by trait but can provide cover on the flank if needed. He is quick, strong, good in the air, can hold up the play, and is efficient in finishing off his chances.<\/p>\n

Moreover, Balogun works hard without possession. He is a talented player and is currently at the prime stage of his career. He is even familiar with the Premier League\u2019s physicality, having previously played for Arsenal.<\/p>\n

Therefore, the Monaco star might be a shrewd acquisition for Everton should they purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Merseyside club eventually manage to secure his services before tomorrow\u2019s deadline.<\/p>\n
