Herzegovina on July 1 after catching defender Tarik Muharemovic on the ankle, triggering an automatic one-match suspension.<\/p>\n<p>However, FIFA later suspended Balogun\u2019s one-match ban for a one-year probationary period, clearing him to face Belgium in the Round of 16.<\/p>\n<p>The stunning decision came after Trump\u2019s call to Infantino, although the FIFA president insisted the US President\u2019s intervention had no influence on the governing body\u2019s disciplinary committee.<\/p>\n<p>Trump later celebrated the decision publicly, thanking FIFA for what he described as correcting a \u201cgreat injustice\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The red card itself remains on Balogun\u2019s disciplinary record, with FIFA using Article 27 of its disciplinary code to suspend the one-match ban
