Tottenham<\/a> Hotspur have started the Premier League<\/a> season in the worst possible manner, having lost to Brentford and Newcastle United<\/a> in their opening fixtures. However, with the transfer<\/a> window still open, Roberto De Zerbi is looking to make amends.<\/p>\n Andy Robertson\u2019s performances at the back have been particularly concerning and the decision to let Djed Spence leave for Inter Milan has backfired almost immediately. With Souza also joining Porto, Spurs need a left back.<\/p>\n Football London has reported<\/a> that the Lilywhites are now targeting a late swoop on Nottingham Forest for Neco Williams, who has had a few good campaigns with them. The 25-year-old is valued at \u00a324 million on Transfermarkt<\/a>.<\/p>\n In spite of Spurs\u2019 interest, Oliver Glasner and Forest are not willing to let Williams go very late on during the transfer window given how central he is to Nottingham, but whether that changes if Tottenham make a formal offer remains to be seen.<\/p>\n Neco Williams has been excellent for Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur\u2019s interest in his signing comes as no surprise. Despite the Lilywhites\u2019 shortcomings of late, he may be willing to join them for an attractive project and a higher wage.<\/p>\n He is an excellent left back but offers positional versatility as he can invert into midfield or play as a right back too. The latter will be a vital attribute as well because Archie Gray, naturally a midfielder, has occasionally slotted into the back four for Pedro Porro.<\/p>\n Williams also offers all-round abilities. Defensively, he is solid in one-on-one situations, wins duels effectively and makes well-time interceptions and tackles, while being comfortable in possession to drive the ball forward. His passing is very accurate and the Welsh international can also take set-pieces thanks to being comfortable with both feet.<\/p>\n That said, it is unlikely that Spurs would be able to sign him now considering Nottingham have little time to bring in a replacement for one of their most important players but January might be a good time to revisit Williams\u2019 acquisition.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tJanuary move might be a more realistic aim<\/h2>\n
