Fun, right?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"-eastern-conference-play-in-teams\">\ud83d\udcaa Eastern Conference play-in teams<\/h3>\n<figure><figcaption> <span class=\"credit\"><\/p>\n<p>SOURCE: RICH SCHULTZ\/GETTY IMAGES<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>No. 7 Miami Heat: <\/strong>After missing out on the NBA Finals by <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-b\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">just four points<\/a> last year, Jimmy Butler is out for vengeance. The efficient veteran <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-n\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">led his team in scoring<\/a> through an up-and-down season while <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-p\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">big man Bam Adebayo<\/a> held down the defense. A match made in play-in heaven.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No. 8 Atlanta Hawks: <\/strong>The Hawks\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-x\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">front office made all the wrong headlines<\/a> this season, <em>nearly<\/em> overshadowing the squad\u2019s downward on-court spiral. <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-m\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trae Young and his crew<\/a> are certainly the underdogs, but perhaps postseason pressure is just what they need to succeed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No. 9 Toronto Raptors: <\/strong>It\u2019s been a rollercoaster season for the Raps, who started strong, <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-c\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stumbled mid-season<\/a>, and have been making up ground ever since. Thankfully, <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-q\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pascal \u201cSpicy P\u201d Siakam<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-a\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fred VanVleet<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-f\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Scottie Barnes<\/a> are back in form at just the right time. Hear them roar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No. 10 Chicago Bulls: <\/strong>The Bulls also had a tumultuous season, and while they posted <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-z\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">big wins against top teams<\/a>, they struggled to keep up their <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-v\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">real big energy<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-e\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">against lesser opponents<\/a>. Leading the <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-w\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WC\u2019s best defense since the trade deadline<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-yd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">all-time NBA leading scorer<\/a> LeBron James is looking to cement his LA legacy by bringing home another ring for the purple and gold.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No. 8 Minnesota Timberwolves: <\/strong>The end of the Wolves\u2019 season read <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-yh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">like a UFC ringside report<\/a>, with <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-jr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">two starters out today<\/a> after throwing punches en route to the eighth seed. <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-jy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Coach Chris Finch admits<\/a> such immaturity needs to be left behind if Minnesota wants to make a splash in the postseason \u2014 and with <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-jj\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Karl-Anthony Towns<\/a> firing on all cylinders, it\u2019s possible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No. 9 New Orleans Pelicans: <\/strong>With generational talent Zion Williamson out as he <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-jt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">continues to struggle with injury<\/a>, the Pels have leaned on their defense (the sixth-best D in the league) to qualify for the play-in. And good thing because they\u2019ll need a whole lot of it to overcome their lackluster sans-Zion offense.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No. 10 Oklahoma City Thunder: <\/strong>The Thunder struck big this season with their young gun: the slick and <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-ji\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stylish<\/a> Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The Canadian averaged over 30 points per game this season (good for fourth in the Association) and will run the show for this young OKC squad.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"\ufe0f-eastern-conference-playoff-teams\">\u27a1\ufe0f Eastern Conference playoff teams<\/h3>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.takeshape.io\/71fc3568-3ff2-4a40-a6dc-fed792e2222a\/dev\/c28151e3-8a17-458c-9989-b72a3325981d\/GettyImages-1479912281.172447.jpg\"\/><figcaption> <span class=\"credit\"><\/p>\n<p>SOURCE: ROB CARR\/GETTY IMAGES<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>No. 1 Milwaukee Bucks: <\/strong>With the king of dad jokes Giannis Antetokounmpo (pronounced ah-det-oh-KOON-boh) leading the way, the Bucks are back in the playoffs for the seventh straight year, this time locking in the NBA\u2019s best regular-season record. Add a healthy Khris Middleton to the mix, and opponents should fear the deer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No. 2 Boston Celtics: <\/strong>Don\u2019t let their late-season stumbles fool you: the Cs jumped out to a <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-tj\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">historic season start<\/a> and are still one of the favorites to hoist the trophy after last year\u2019s runner-up finish. Their All-Star duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have been silencing <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-tt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rumors of a rift<\/a> with their offensive output and <em>should<\/em> shine even brighter come playoff time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No. 3 Philadelphia 76ers: <\/strong>MVP frontrunner Joel Embiid\u2019s (pronounced jo-ELL em-BEAD) history-making performances and James Harden\u2019s quiet consistency have Philly fans <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-ti\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trusting the process<\/a> more than ever, but Harden\u2019s playoff woes might give them pause \u2014 the Beard <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-td\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">notoriously struggles<\/a> come crunch time. TBD if Embiid can carry them on his (very large) shoulders alone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No. 4 Cleveland Cavaliers: <\/strong>The Cavs are a true contender this year, making the postseason for the first time since 2018 thanks to a major boost from their offseason acquisition, Donovan Mitchell. Boasting the league\u2019s best defense, they hold opponents to under 107 points per game. This squad has dark horse written all over it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No. 5 NY Knicks: <\/strong>After missing the postseason last year, the Knicks are playing like they have something to prove. While <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-th\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">All-Star Julius Randle\u2019s late-season ankle injury<\/a> leaves him sidelined (for now), his absence forced others, namely <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-tk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jalen Brunson<\/a> and Canadian <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-tu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RJ Barrett<\/a>, to step up, with each averaging double-digit points this year. Bing bong, baby.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No. 6 Brooklyn Nets: <\/strong>It\u2019s been a dramatic season, to say the least, as <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-il\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the superteam that wasn\u2019t<\/a> fell apart. But, amid the chaos, Brooklyn\u2019s found consistency, namely in midseason acquisitions <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-ir\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Spencer Dinwiddie<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-iy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mikal Bridges<\/a>. The Joker dealt with injury down the stretch, but with the help of teammate Jamal Murray, he should be ready <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to gallop<\/a> to another deep playoff run.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No. 2 Memphis Grizzlies: <\/strong>After years of missed playoffs and first-round exits, the Grizz proved they belong on the big stage last year, giving the eventual champion Golden State Warriors a run for their money in the second round. And with Ja Morant back after taking time away following <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-ii\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a series of off-court incidents<\/a>, expect some major growl power.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No. 3 Sacramento Kings: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-id\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Light the beam<\/a>! The Kings snapped the <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-ih\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sports world\u2019s longest playoff drought<\/a>, returning to postseason glory for the first time since 2006. With All-Stars De\u2019Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis reigning supreme on offense, not to mention sharpshooter Kevin Huerter splashing threes, this Cinderella story is must-see TV.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No. 4 Phoenix Suns: <\/strong>It\u2019s title or bust for this four seed after they set the league ablaze with the <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-ik\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquisition of superstar Kevin Durant in February<\/a>. Veteran Chris Paul is still searching for that elusive first ring, and this could <em>finally <\/em>be his year, especially if he and Devin Booker can stay healthy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No. 5 LA Clippers: <\/strong>After missing last season with an ACL injury, Kawhi Leonard is looking to get back to his Finals MVP ways. Though he sure knows how to handle big moments, he\u2019ll have to be even more impressive without fellow superstar Paul George, who\u2019ll miss at least the beginning of the postseason with a lingering knee injury.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No. 6 Golden State Warriors: <\/strong>Yes, Steph Curry and the defending champs <em>just <\/em>avoided the play-in tourney. They\u2019ve been plagued by injuries for much of the season, but, <a href=\"https:\/\/thegist.createsend1.com\/t\/t-i-fkijkld-ydurlulrul-iu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">as Klay Thompson said<\/a>, it\u2019s hard to imagine anyone beating them in a seven-game series when they\u2019re healthy.
