Following the Los Angeles Rams<\/a>‘ 27-7 loss to the rival San Francisco 49ers<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>in Melbourne, Australia, on Thursday night (ET U.S. time), Rams pass-rusher Myles Garrett<\/a>\u00a0admitted that he “was the\u00a0<\/span>worst version<\/span><\/a>\u00a0of myself that I\u2019ve put out there” during the game.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Garrett failed to record a single tackle, sack or pressure against the 49ers, but he also admitted he wasn’t fully healthy after he missed<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>most of training camp and the preseason with knee swelling.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n “When I was out there, I was a little more focused on myself and trying to stay healthy than what they were doing, and it showed. I wasn\u2019t what I needed to be for my team,” Garrett specifically said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Via a\u00a0<\/span>video shared<\/span><\/a>\u00a0on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Friday morning,\u00a0<\/span>NFL<\/span><\/a>\u00a0insider Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk and NBC Sports blasted head coach\u00a0<\/span>Sean McVay<\/a> for playing Garrett in Australia.\u00a0<\/span>Florio also<\/span><\/a>\u00a0touched upon the matter for a Pro Football Talk article.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n “Typically, players don\u2019t play if concerns about their health become a distraction to the task at hand,” Florio wrote. “It\u2019s fair to wonder why Garrett played \u2014 and why the Rams didn\u2019t intervene and stop him from playing. It\u2019s also fair to wonder whether the Rams knew about Garrett\u2019s circumstances.
