On June 27th, the Tampa Bay Rays<\/a> took over first place in the American League East. <\/p>\n 87 days later, on the back of 6 2\/3 innings of one-run, 11-strikeout ball from Drew Rasmussen and another four RBI from Yandy Diaz<\/a>, they\u00a0 <\/span>won the American League East<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n Tampa needed to take just one of the four games in their series with the New York Yankees, and after dropping the first game of Tuesday\u2019s double-header 2-0, they got to pop champagne after a dominant 6-1 win in the night cap. The win not only guarantees the franchise\u2019s fifth division title, it also locks up the top-seed in the American League playoffs and a bye into the American League Division Series.\u00a0<\/p>\n Which brings us to today\u2019s quiz. Diaz has been a consistent hitter for the Rays over the past few seasons, winning the A.L. batting title in 2023 and flirting with his second-consecutive .300 season.
