After the 2025 season, Top Drawer Soccer (TDS) ranked the <\/span>top freshmen in DI womens soccer<\/span><\/a>. Every year, TDS puts together a list of the top 100 freshmen starting with the <\/span>TDS Freshman of the Year<\/span><\/a> at no. 1. This year, Stanford midfielder Y-Lan Nguyen was named TDS\u2019s Freshman of the Year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Y-Lan Nguyen is a midfielder for the <\/span>Stanford Cardinal<\/span><\/a>. She was born in Fairfax, VA, and has participated in multiple youth national team training camps. Nguyen started her Stanford career on a high note, as she scored a goal in her collegiate debut against San Francisco. As a freshman, she helped Stanford make it to the NCAA DI Women\u2019s College Cup final and even earned a spot on the <\/span>all-tournament team<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Kamdyn Fuller is a midfielder for the <\/span>TCU Horned Frogs<\/span><\/a>. She is from Southlake, Texas, and was ranked No. 2 on TDS\u2019s list of 2025 <\/span>Postseason Top-100 Freshmen.<\/span> Fuller started and played in 23 matches during her freshman season and helped the team reach the <\/span>NCAA DI Women\u2019s College Cup semifinal. She also swept her <\/span>conference awards<\/span><\/a>, earning Big 12 Freshman of the Year, All-Big 12 First Team, and All-Big 12 Freshman Team.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Caroline Birkel is a goalie for the <\/span>Stanford Cardinal<\/span><\/a>. She grew up in St. Louis and also played field hockey throughout high school. TDS ranked her at No. 3 on their 2025 <\/span>Postseason Top-100 Freshmen after Stanford made <\/span>the NCAA DI Women\u2019s College Cup final. Birkel also swept her <\/span>conference awards<\/span><\/a>, earning ACC Goalkeeper of the Year, All-ACC First Team, and ACC All-Freshman team.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Daya King is a defender for the <\/span>Duke Blue Devils<\/span><\/a>. She was born in <\/span>Los Alamitos, California,<\/span> and is one of seven siblings. During her senior year of high school, she earned <\/span>Gatorade State Player of the Year in California<\/span><\/a> and continued to excel at Duke. King started in all 22 matches that she played in and was ranked No. 4 on TDS\u2019s list of <\/span>2025 <\/span>Postseason Top-100 Freshmen. She was also named to the <\/span>ACC All-Freshman team.<\/span><\/p>\n Kylie Maxwell is a forward for the <\/span>Wake Forest Deacons<\/span><\/a>. She\u2019s from Langhorne, Pennsylvania, and grew up in a household full of athletes. Her twin sister also plays soccer at Wake Forest, and her mom, dad, and brother all played sports in college. She was also named <\/span>Gatorade Player of the Year in Pennsylvania<\/span><\/a> and earned the No. 5 spot on <\/span>TDS\u2019s list of <\/span>2025 <\/span>Postseason Top-100 Freshmen.
