Seville hosted the grand festival of popular athletics and reaffirmed itself as the European capital of long-distance running, surpassing 110,000 participants annually across its events. The 38th Guadalquivir Night Run KH-7, organized by the City of Seville, set a new overall participation record by reaching 26,000 runners. After the initial 25,000 bib numbers sold out 20 days before the event, organizers expanded the quota by 1,000 additional slots, which sold out in under 24 hours.<\/p>\n
This historic success adds to the consolidation of the Seville Marathon, which features 20,000 participants and has nearly doubled its figure in three years, and the Half Marathon, which has risen from 10,500 runners in 2022 to 20,000 today. Between these three emblematic events, they total more than 66,000 runners.<\/p>\n
The start of the race took place at 10:00 PM from Paseo de las Delicias, at the roundabout of Buenos Aires. Participants completed an urban course of 8.5 kilometers that ran through the city\u2019s most emblematic points: Paseo de las Delicias, Glorieta de Marineros, La R\u00e1bida, Palos de la Frontera, Avenida El Cid, Plaza Juan de Austria, Avenida Men\u00e9ndez y Pelayo, Recaredo, Mar\u00eda Auxiliadora, Ronda de Capuchinos, Mu\u00f1oz Le\u00f3n, Parlamento de Andaluc\u00eda, Resolana, Glorieta Duquesa Cayetana de Alba, Torneo, Arjona, Paseo de Crist\u00f3bal Col\u00f3n, Paseo de las Delicias and Glorieta de Marineros, finishing at Paseo de las Delicias.<\/p>\n

The event was supported by around 300 volunteers. For the first time, the Down Association of Seville actively participated with about 50 volunteers (made up of people with Down syndrome and their families), who helped both with bib pickup and at the aid station located on Mu\u00f1oz Le\u00f3n Street. The Food Bank was present throughout the preceding week at the Runner Fair with a stand dedicated to collecting milk donations.<\/p>\n
