Another year, the streets of Madrid welcome back the CSIC Science Run (Carrera de la Ciencia) organized by the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cient\u00edficas (CSIC). The event will take place on Sunday, October 18 at 9:00 a.m. Approximately 3,000 runners will participate in the 45th edition of this traditional sporting event, which starts and finishes at CSIC\u2019s central headquarters in Madrid, at 117 Serrano Street, and features a 10-kilometer course. Registrations can be made online through this link until the close of Thursday, October 15, or until the bibs run out. We advise you to hurry so you don\u2019t miss out on this legendary race.<\/p>\n
In this edition, the initiative reinforces its commitment to sustainability, so registered participants will receive a long-sleeve technical shirt and a runner\u2019s backpack made from 100% recycled materials. Additionally, the vehicles used will be non-polluting.<\/p>\n
\u25ba\u25ba\u25ba INSCR\u00cdBETE AQU\u00cd<\/strong><\/p>\n Inspired by the cross-country race held in 1925 during the athletic contest at the Residencia de Estudiantes, the Carrera de la Ciencia blends its popular racing ethos with the rigor of official international and national-level competitions. Its list of champions includes Olympic, world, and European titleholders; and its route is certified by the Madrid Athletics Federation.<\/p>\n This race awards, in both the female and male categories, the first three finishers in the general category, the under-23 category, and the masters category for participants aged 35 and older. In recent editions, more than 30% of the runners have been women.<\/p>\n The Vice Presidency for Culture of Science and Citizen Science of the CSIC drives the Carrera de la Ciencia, which involves nearly 150 people in its organization. The event, which is part of the Barrio de la Ciencia program, coincides with the celebration of the 255th anniversary of the Museo Nacional de Ciencias Nacionales (MNCN-CSIC), so all runners will be able to visit this venue for free after completing the course.<\/p>\n The Carrera de la Ciencia counts on the collaboration of the CSIC General Foundation, Lilly, Talgo, the Ram\u00f3n Areces Foundation, the State Research Agency, the Residencia de Estudiantes, the Center for the Development of Technology and Innovation, and Agua del Teleno (the race\u2019s official drink).
