Atlanta\u2019s National Women\u2019s Soccer League team has received its branding.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The NWSL\u2019s 17th club is set to debut as Atlanta City FC in 2028, AMB Sports and Entertainment announced Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The team said its red and peach-colored crest represents the city\u2019s resilience, depicting a phoenix in the shape of an \u201cA\u201d surrounded by a dogwood blossom and roots.\u00a0Atlanta Red and Georgia Peach serve as the club\u2019s official colors along with Platinum Metallic and Black Char.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAtlanta City FC reflects the energy, diversity and ambition that define this community, and we are proud to build a club that belongs to Atlanta and represents its future on the national stage,\u201d Atlanta City FC Chief Business Officer Deandra Duggans said in a statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The club is owned by Home Depot co-founder Arthur M. Blank, whose AMBSE operates Major League Soccer\u2019s Atlanta United, the National Football League\u2019s Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta Drive Golf Club.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cOur supporters are at the heart of everything we do, and their energy and belief will shape the soul of this club,\u201d Blank said in a statement. \u201cWe can\u2019t wait for Atlanta City FC to take the pitch in a few short years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Atlanta City FC will share Mercedes-Benz Stadium with the United and the Falcons, adopting a new seating configuration centered on the lower bowl with a capacity of about 28,000, according to the club\u2019s website. The venue typically seats 71,000 fans. <\/p>\n

The new NWSL side isn\u2019t the city\u2019s first women\u2019s soccer club. The Atlanta Beat played in Women\u2019s Professional Soccer league (WPS) in 2010 and 2011 and in Women\u2019s United Soccer Association (WUSA) from 2001 to 2003.\u00a0<\/p>\n

An expansion side in Columbus, Ohio, is also set to debut in 2028 as the NWSL\u2019s 18th club.\u00a0<\/p>\n
