Tottenham<\/a> Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae, as per German football expert Christian Falk<\/span><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n After being impressed by the 29-year-old\u2019s performances for Fenerbahce, Napoli decided to purchase him back in 2022. He enjoyed a stellar debut campaign at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, helping his side win the league title.<\/p>\n Kim attracted the Bavarian club\u2019s attention with his performances in Italy; as a result, they purchased him the following year. Although he has won two Bundesliga titles and a few domestic cup competitions in Germany, he has struggled to flourish in his career.<\/p>\n Still, Kim has continued to play a key role in the South Korean national team\u2019s starting line-up. Now, on FC Bayern Insider<\/span><\/a>, Falk<\/em> reports that Tottenham have expressed their interest in the Bayern Munich star and held talks over a potential swoop this summer but didn\u2019t make a formal approach.<\/p>\n However, the Lilywhites will have to overcome several obstacles to seal the deal. Aston Villa<\/a> and AC Milan are also in this race, while the player wants to stay at Bayern Munich by extending his deal, with his existing deal set to run until 2028.<\/p>\n Kim is unlikely to leave in mid-season, but the situation might change next summer if the German giants eventually don\u2019t opt to extend the South Korean\u2019s contract.<\/p>\n Kim is a 6ft 3in tall right-footed centre-back. He is quick, strong, good in the air, comfortable playing out from the back and is efficient in defensive contributions.<\/p>\n Having struggled with defensive frailties over the last two seasons, the Lilywhites decided to upgrade the backline by signing Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi and Andrew Robertson this summer.<\/p>\n Still, Spurs have endured a dire start this season, languishing at the bottom of the Premier League<\/a> table with two points from five games. They are yet to win a league encounter this season.<\/p>\n As a result, it appears Tottenham are considering reinforcing the backline further.
