In its tenth year, #WhyD3Wednesday allows student-athletes to briefly explain why they chose to attend their Division III institution as well as share some of their favorite things in life. To view this week&#8217;s submission, please see below and make sure to follow the hashtag #WhyD3Wednesday on the USA South&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/usa_south\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">X (@usa_south)<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/usa_south\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Instagram (@usa_south)<\/a>\u00a0social media platforms throughout the year as League student-athletes share their stories.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><u><b id=\"docs-internal-guid-d701700c-7fff-1cdb-697e-8d47eabbb9ea\"><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/mumonarchs.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/mackenzie-meekins\/15012\" rel=\"smarttag noopener\" rev=\"15012\" target=\"_blank\">Mackenzie Meekins<\/a><\/dfn><\/b><b>\u00a0&#8211;<\/b><span style=\"font-family:arial;\"><strong>\u00a0Methodist\u00a0University\u00a0&#8211; Senior\u00a0&#8211; Women&#8217;s Soccer<\/strong><\/span><\/u><br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n&#8220;<span id=\"docs-internal-guid-ed54118f-7fff-f6da-3ed8-18d59afda1e8\">I chose Division III and Methodist because I wanted to continue playing the sport I love while also finding a place where I could grow academically and personally. When I first visited Methodist, I immediately felt like it could be my home away from home. Everyone was so welcoming, and I could picture myself being part of the community at Methodist.\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-ed54118f-7fff-f6da-3ed8-18d59afda1e8\">One of my favorite things about Methodist has been the relationships I have built. I have made lifelong friends through women&#8217;s soccer and have also developed strong relationships with my professors and staff, including the Associate Dean of Students. Since the class sizes are smaller, usually around 20\u201330 students or less, my professors can give me more one-on-one attention and actually get to know me. They have supported me throughout college and helped prepare me for my future and the career I want to pursue.\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-ed54118f-7fff-f6da-3ed8-18d59afda1e8\">Choosing Division III has allowed me to have a great balance between soccer, academics, and my personal life. Methodist has given me the opportunity to compete in the sport I love while surrounding me with people who genuinely care about my success.
