The Dallas Cowboys<\/a> are playing a dangerous game.<\/p>\n Late Wednesday, The Ringer’s Tom Pelissero reported that the Cowboys had finalized a deal to acquire cornerback\u00a0Joey Porter Jr.<\/a> from the Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a>. Per ESPN Cowboys reporter Todd Archer, Dallas sent Pittsburgh a conditional 2027 sixth-round pick and 2028 second-rounder to complete the trade.<\/p>\n Porter, 26, hasn’t played this season and was ruled out by the Steelers for Thursday night’s game at the Cleveland Browns<\/a> with what was described as a back injury<\/a>. Pittsburgh added NRI (not injury-related) and conditioning tags for Porter in its Week 4 injury report, which longtime NFL\u00a0<\/a>reporter Albert Breer noted was a clear sign the marriage was “probably over.”<\/p>\n But the trade to Dallas may have come with an elixir. ESPN’s Adam Schefter noted on Thursday that “There is ‘a chance’ … Porter will make his debut Sunday vs. the [Houston] Texans.<\/p>\n “The Cowboys are going to work to get him ready,” Schefter added.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
