For the unversed, Bettman recently said the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/us\/nhl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">National Hockey League<\/a> is deviating from the original purpose of no-trade clauses.<\/p>\n<p>According to Bettman, the no-trade clause came to fruition because it was intended to protect players signing long-term in a place they wanted to stay. Bettman argued that the purpose of the no-trade clause was not to allow players to demand a trade and dictate their next destination.<\/p>\n<p><template id=\"also-read-articles-template\"><\/p>\n<p><\/template><\/p>\n<p>The NHL Commissioner stated that if the situation around the no-trade clause continues to grow, then it would have to be addressed with the Players&#8217; Association. While Bettman&#8217;s comments received various reactions on social media, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/us\/nhl\/brad-marchand\/news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">Brad Marchand<\/a> recently clapped back at Bettman.<\/p>\n<p>In the comments section of a post containing Bettman&#8217;s comments, Marchand wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;lol this goes both ways. I guess it&#8217;s ok if a team signs you to A long term deal and wants to trade you but not if you want out during that term. This is because Marchand has been dealing with an injury.<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<h2>When will Brad Marchand return to action?<\/h2>\n<p>Brad Marchand suffered a lower-body injury while playing for the Florida Panthers in the 2026-27 NHL season. Then, in August, Marchand revealed that he underwent surgery to address the injury, but did not reveal the exact details.<\/p>\n<p>While Marchand missed the Panthers&#8217; first two games of the season, fans are now wondering when he will return to action. In a statement to The Associated Press, Panthers coach Paul Maurice revealed that Marchand will enter rehab this month.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He&#8217;s going to take the month of October for rehab&#8230; That may mean he&#8217;s ready to play right at the end of it. That may mean he needs a short period of time, assuming no setbacks. But we&#8217;re planning on rehabbing for October.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In the 2025-26 NHL season, Brad Marchand was an important player for the Florida Panthers.
