Chelsea<\/a> have expressed interest in signing French international midfielder Lucas Da Cunha from Como, according to TEAMtalk<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n Da Cunha, valued at \u00a325m by Transfermarkt<\/a>, has been a key part of Como\u2019s resurgence in recent years. He joined the Lombardy-based outfit from Nice in 2023 and helped them gain promotion to the Italian top flight the following season.<\/p>\n Despite the heavy overhaul and rebuild, he has remained a vital cog in Cesc Fabregas\u2019 side, amassing 77 appearances for the club since their promotion to Serie A.<\/p>\n Last season, the midfielder featured in all but two of 38 Serie A games, playing across different midfield positions to help the club achieve an historic UEFA Champions League<\/a> qualification.<\/p>\n In the ongoing campaign, Da Cunha has been ever-present in all of Como\u2019s fixtures this season, including the memorable 4-1 UEFA Champions League win over RB Leipzig, where he captained the team.<\/p>\n Having shown such high-level reliability, versatility and leadership qualities, it\u2019s no surprise several top clubs are vying for his signature.<\/p>\n One of the clubs looking to sign Da Cunha is Chelsea, according to TEAMtalk<\/em>, which claims that the London giants have placed the 25-year-old on their radar.<\/p>\n Although the midfielder\u2019s name is only beginning to make the rounds, the report reveals that Premier League<\/a> clubs, including Chelsea, had been keeping tabs on his progress and even made contact to sign him before he ultimately decided to extend his contract with Como.<\/p>\n Still, despite his fresh new contract, the Blues are closely monitoring the French international as they look to bolster their midfield ranks in 2027, according to the report.<\/p>\n However, Chelsea are set to face stern competition from Liverpool<\/a>, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth, who are all keeping tabs on the 25-year-old, TEAMtalk<\/em> adds.<\/p>\n Xabi Alonso\u2019s side have had a mixed start to the season. After five games played, they have won two games, lost two and drawn one.<\/p>\n Since winning their opening two games, they have failed to win any of their next three games, including a disappointing 2-0 loss to Brentford before the international break.<\/p>\n One notable area of concern has been their midfield.
