A previous report<\/a> insisted that New York Yankees<\/a> owner Hal Steinbrenner<\/a>\u00a0has already decided to retain Yankees senior vice president\/general manager Brian Cashman<\/span><\/a> and manager Aaron Boone<\/a>\u00a0for at least the 2027\u00a0<\/span><\/span>MLB<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0season.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n However, that didn’t stop frustrated Yankees fans from chanting for Steinbrenner to\u00a0<\/span><\/span>fire Boone<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0after the Tampa Bay Rays<\/a> earned a 4-3\u00a0win in the Bronx and completed a three-game sweep of New York in the American League Division Series on Wednesday night.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Following that defeat, Yankees slugger and team captain Aaron Judge<\/a> sent a message to Steinbrenner and Cashman about Boone’s future.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n “He\u2019s our manager,” Judge said of Boone, per\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Phillip Martinez<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0of SNY. “He\u2019s running this ship. According to Deesha Thosar<\/a>\u00a0of Fox Sports, Cashman said ahead of Wednesday’s game that he thinks “Boone’s a really good manager” and was a big reason the Yankees advanced to the ALDS. In late August, Ian O’Connor<\/a> of The Athletic revealed that Cashman “is expected to sign yet another deal” with the Yankees.\u00a0<\/span>Cashman’s contract expires at the end of the season, while Boone is signed<\/a> through the 2027 campaign.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n “Boony is a great guy to play for,” Yankees outfielder Cody Bellinger said. “I’ve played for four really good managers, in my opinion, and my transition over here was smooth. It’s all about winning here. When you put on this logo, it’s all about winning, and we understand that.
