The Spanish athlete finished sixth and, moreover, established a new <strong>Spanish record for 5 kilometres with 14:59<\/strong>, improving by 12 seconds the previous national best, which had been held by Marta Dom\u00ednguez at 15:11.<\/p>\n<p>Garc\u00eda snatches another record from Dom\u00ednguez, one of the most important athletes in Spain\u2019s history and whose sporting career will always be associated with doping. Dom\u00ednguez still holds four Spanish records: the <strong>10,000 metres, the 3,000 metres outdoors and the 3,000 metres obstacles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The world title went to the Ethiopian <strong>Likina Amebaw<\/strong>, who asserted herself with authority in 14:41.
