\u00a0The Cardinals’ bad offseason might get even worse.<\/p>\n
Safety Budda Baker<\/a> scrubbed mention<\/a> of the Cardinals from his Twitter bio and also tweeted a gif of Michael Jordan from “The Last Dance.”<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n In the clip, Jordan says, “That’s all I needed. That’s all I needed for him to do that and it became personal with me.”<\/p>\n Reporter Kyle Odegard elaborated on the tweet, saying Baker’s message “is very likely about unhappiness with the Cardinals.”<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n Ian Rapoport later said Baker’s status with the Cardinals “bears watching” going forward.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n Any talk of Baker leaving at this time would be premature. He has two years, $34.8M remaining<\/a> on his contract and is one of the only good things the Cardinals have going for them heading into the 2023 season.<\/p>\n Plus, it’s not unheard of for players and teams to air out their grievances in public.<\/p>\n QB Lamar Jackson, for example, announced he requested a trade from the Ravens back in March while seemingly still wanting a long-term contract with the franchise.\u00a0<\/p>\n Last offseason, 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel requested a trade that wasn’t honored and he played in San Francisco without incident.<\/p>\n For the Cardinals, making Baker happy will be key to avoiding a difficult offseason falling even more off the rails.\u00a0<\/p>\n An arbitration claim by former team executive Terry McDonough revealed some scathing accusations<\/a> against owner Michael Bidwell which the team denied.<\/p>\n The organization also ranked 31st in the NFL Players’ Association team report cards<\/a> and is tied with<\/a> the Texans for the longest odds of winning Super Bowl LVIII.<\/p>\n Baker led the Cardinals in tackles (111) last season and is coming off his fourth consecutive Pro Bowl appearance.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
