India opening batter Ishan Kishan<\/strong> smashed the fastest double century in ODI cricket on Saturday as he scored 210 against Bangladesh in the third and final game of the three-match series at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram.<\/p>\n With this knock, Ishan broke the seven-year-old record held by West Indies\u2019 legend Chris Gayle<\/strong> of slamming the fastest 200 in a 50-overs contest. Ishan achieved the feat in just 126 balls while Gayle took 138 deliveries to reach the historic figure.<\/p>\n Ishan completed his maiden ODI century off 85 balls and then went in blitzkrieg mode as 156 of his runs came in just boundaries [24 fours and 10 sixes]. He was eventually caught near the boundary rope in the 36th over of the first innings, but believed that had he carried his bat through, he could have surely reached the 300-run mark.<\/p>\n \u201cThe wicket was too good to bat on. My intent was very clear \u2013 if the ball is there, I\u2019ll go for it,\u201d<\/em> Ishan said at the end of India\u2019s innings.<\/p>\n \u201cStill feel when I got out \u2013 15 overs were left.
