This should never have happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Spanish football boss has claimed the kiss was \u201cconsensual\u201d \u2013 but<a href=\"https:\/\/www.news.com.au\/sport\/football\/spains-world-champion-team-revolts-against-federation-president-luis-rubiales-as-he-refuses-to-resign-over-unwanted-kiss\/news-story\/1e38958a63d245e09b150f9bcce58dc6\" title=\"www.news.com.au\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"> the player insists she never consented to a kiss on the lips<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The scandal has continued to swirl in recent days with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.news.com.au\/sport\/football\/mother-of-disgraced-spain-football-chief-luis-rubiales-mum-rushed-to-hospital-amid-hunger-strike\/news-story\/84af178079c82ae38a2516a42cb46904\" title=\"www.news.com.au\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Rubiales\u2019 mother on Thursday admitted to hospital over a hunger strike <\/a>where she was demanding Hermoso tell the \u201ctruth\u201d about the incident. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"sc-11i7hbm-0 eUyOEq\"><amp-img alt=\"President of the Royal Spanish Football Federation Luis Rubiales carrying Spain's Athenea del Castillo Beivide on his shoulder as they celebrate winning the World Cup. The disciplinary proceedings will continue their legitimate course,\u201d added Infantino who was at the trophy presentation after the final.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn our side, we should continue to focus on how to further support women and women\u2019s football in future, both on and off the pitch. Upholding true values and respecting the players as persons as well as for their fantastic performances.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Spain\u2019s controversial Women\u2019s World Cup-winning coach Jorge Vilda is set to be forced out as the scandal engulfs the Spanish football federation.<\/p>\n<p>Over 80 national team players are striking in protest until the leadership of the federation (RFEF) is changed, in the wake of Rubiales\u2019 forcible kiss on the lips of midfielder Hermoso.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"sc-11i7hbm-0 eUyOEq\"><amp-img alt=\"Rubiales has been hit with more accusations.
