Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly split with his agent Jorge Mendes after his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan led to his Manchester United departure.<\/p>\n
Unless you have been living under a rock, you will know that Ronaldo is no longer a Manchester United player after he tore the club a new one during a tell-all interview with his best friend, Piers Morgan.<\/p>\n
The 37-year-old told Morgan that he does not \u201crespect\u201d Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag and that the club\u2019s infrastructure was the exact same as when he first joined the club in 2004.<\/p>\n
From the gym to the chef, Ronaldo claimed that nothing has changed and even said that multiple reports were wrong in that he was actively seeking a move elsewhere last summer.<\/p>\n
The interview burned all bridges and the Portugal captain\u2019s contract was mutually terminated before the World Cup got underway.<\/p>\n
Without a club while representing his country in Qatar, the tournament was the perfect opportunity for Ronaldo to show European clubs that he can still perform at the highest level.<\/p>\n
It did not go down like that, with Ronaldo\u2019s only goal coming from the penalty spot against Ghana before more drama led to him being dropped to the bench for Portugal\u2019s last-16 win against Switzerland, which was fittingly a 6-1 win and their best performance in Qatar.<\/p>\n
After Mendes tried to get his client a move to a top European club, Ronaldo settled with Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr and will earn around \u00a3200m per year in the middle east.<\/p>\n
It has been revealed by Portuguese outlet Publico<\/em> that Mendes no longer works for Ronaldo.<\/a><\/p>\n It is pretty juicy stuff that has led to the \u2018divorce\u2019 between the player and super agent.<\/p>\n Ronaldo apparently had the interview with Piers Morgan \u2018against the will\u2019 of Mendes.<\/p>\n The agent knew it was a bad idea to make his \u2018divorce\u2019 with United \u2018irreversible\u2019.<\/p>\n Mendes had \u2018spent months\u2019 to find Ronaldo an \u2018elite team\u2019 and the only one who wanted him were the Red Devils, and in burning that bridge, the former Real Madrid forward ended his chances of playing at the top level in Europe.<\/p>\n Once that door was closed, \u2018no other door would open\u2019, with Mendes clearly p*ssed off that Ronaldo ignored him and got exactly what he knew what would happen following the explosive Morgan interview.<\/p>\n The interview \u2018accelarated\u2019 Ronaldo\u2019s exit and he actually had \u2018frequent\u2019 instances of \u2018bad behaviour\u2019, some of which \u2018were not made public\u2019, leaving the club with no choice.<\/p>\n It is stated that Ronaldo would have needed to have a \u2018legendary World Cup\u2019 to make Europe \u2018once again fall at his feet\u2019 in order for the interview to not have been the end of his time at the top level.<\/p>\n Ricardo Regufe appears to be Ronaldo\u2019s new agent and assisted his move to Al-Nassr.<\/p>\n READ MORE:\u00a0The full list of every Premier League signing and sale made in the January 2023 transfer window<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/div>\n
