Fourth-tier club Grimsby Town defied the odds and pulled off a huge upset victory over Southampton on Wednesday, beating the Premier League outfit 2-1 to move on in the FA Cup.
The League Two side secured an FA Cup quarterfinal berth for the first time in 84 years after Gavan Holohan converted a pair of penalties.
Duje Caleta-Car‘s second-half goal gave the hosts hope, but the struggling Saints failed to find the equalizer and bowed out of the tournament to a chorus of boos from frustrated fans.

Grimsby are the lowest-ranked team to reach the FA Cup quarters since Lincoln Town did so in 2017.
The North East Lincolnshire club is 64 places below Southampton in the English Football League pyramid. Grimsby, who secured promotion back to the EFL last season, sit 16th in League Two, while the Saints occupy last place in the Premier League.
