Fans will get a close-up of Nick Saban’s life as a football coach, his philosophy and his upbringing in ESPN’s upcoming docuseries called “SABAN.” It’s a six-episode series set to release on Oct. 8. In addition to Saban’s 17 seasons with Alabama, the documentary will offer a good look at his time at LSU and the Miami Dolphins.
On Thursday, ESPN shared its trailer in a joint Instagram post with Saban’s daughter Kristen. The trailer received appreciation and reactions from dozens of fans, including Kristen. The influencer dropped a three-word message in the comments section, highlighting her reaction to her father’s major milestone.

According to Variety magazine, ESPN and Words + Pictures have gotten access to hours of footage from Saban’s tenure in Alabama. Those media files haven’t been made public yet, so fans would get to experience an unseen side of him.
The director of the documentary, Russell Dinallo, talked about the contrast between his public image and personal life, noting how he was:
“The super intense guy on the sidelines, but I don’t know.”
According to Dinallo, his team got access to all the media from Saban’s tenure as football coach, which wasn’t supposed to be released during his active years. Talking about the reason behind it, the director said:
“Sort of had this standing policy that none of that was to ever leave the building while he was coaching. As part of telling his story, he said, ‘OK, now this is the time to go ahead and release that stuff.’ So, we had access to all that.”
Nick Saban’s daughter Kristen paid tribute to pet on National Dog Day
Before promoting her father’s docuseries, Kristen paid a special tribute to her pet dog. She posted a clip of her dog swimming next to a wooden dock at the lake to celebrate National Dog Day.
Dropping a sweet message in the caption, Kristen wrote:
“Apparently, it’s National Dog Day. Happy day to my floofy goofball.”
Saban once commented on rookie Caleb Downs. The Dallas Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones, recently revealed it and agreed with the opinion of the ex-Alabama coach on Downs.
