Wide receiver Davante Adams is in the middle of his 13th year in the NFL. The six-time Pro Bowler is currently in his second season with the Los Angeles Rams.
On Tuesday, Adams appeared on the “Up & Adams” show. During the interview, host Kay Adams asked the 33-year-old about the possibility of playing for the next four to five years, while discussing his position on the all-time receiving TDs record list. He is currently No. 7 (119 TDs) and needs just three touchdowns to beat Larry Fitzgerald’s record (121 TDs) for sixth place.
Thanks for the submission!
“I mean, I try not to even think about it too much because, one, I feel old,” Adams said.

“I don’t know if I’ll be playing until I am 37 years old,” Adams said. “I’m 33 now, turning 34 on Christmas Eve. I’m not trying to add any extra years to my age. But playing until you’re 37 is not easy to do. We’ll check back maybe next year around this time and see.
“Maybe sooner than that, I don’t know. I can’t tell you when I’m gonna call it. But at the end of the day I know when I do, I’m gonna make sure that I know for a fact that I’ve given this game everything that I can. … I can’t tell you if I’ll be playing till I’m 37 years old. But we’ll see.”
Coming out of Fresno State, the Green Bay Packers drafted Davante Adams with the No. 53 pick in 2014. He spent eight seasons with them and recorded 8,121 yards on 669 receptions and 73 touchdowns.
In 2022, the wide receiver was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders. Adams played in 37 games over three seasons, posting 2,869 yards on 221 receptions and 23 TDs. He had a short stint with the Jets after being traded in Oct. 2024 before joining the Rams on a two-year, $44 million deal in March 2025.
Last season, Davante Adams posted 789 yards on 60 receptions and 14 TDs. The Rams made the playoffs, but lost to the Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game.
Davante Adams shares his thoughts on Sean McVay shouldering the blame for the Rams’ Week 1 loss to the 49ers
The Los Angeles Rams suffered a disappointing 27-7 season-opening loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Australia on Sept. 10. After the game, coach Sean McVay took the blame, saying he didn’t do a good job of preparing the team for this international showdown.
Following their Week 2 victory over the Giants, McVay joked that his travel plans hampered the team’s performance in Australia. On the “Up & Adams” show, Davante Adams shared his thoughts on the Rams coach shouldering all the responsibility.
“First of all, that’s him being silly,” Adams said. “I don’t think that had anything to do with it. The Niners went out there and played better football than us. They were more rested and locked in that game. … I kind of just want to put it behind me altogether. … He’s being silly. It definitely wasn’t his fault.”
The Rams will next face the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 8:20 p.m. ET.
