Martina Navratilova recently took a dig at First Lady Melania Trump. As the 56-year-old spoke about US President Donald Trump’s second term in office, Navratilova chimed into the conversation with a cutting remark.
Trump was first elected as the President of the United States in 2017, with his time in office leading to several global controversies. While the Republican subsequently lost the 2020 presidential election to Joe Biden, he was re-elected to office in 2024.

Recently, Donald Trump’s wife and the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, made an appearance on Fox News for an interview. The former model spoke about the differences in her husband’s first and second term in office, saying,
“He’s very focused. He has a lot on his plate. It’s very different, what’s going on around the world now. But I think he’s doing the best that he can. He works nonstop. He has the most energy than anybody. He’s from morning until evening, nonstop working.”
Responding to Melania Trump’s statement on X, Martina Navratilova wrote,
“She meant to say how worst.”
Over the years, Navratilova has been a vocal opponent of Trump and several of his policies regarding domestic and international issues.
Martina Navratilova slams ICE as ‘evil’ in latest criticism
One of the defining points of Donald Trump’s second term as US President has been the mass deportation of undocumented immigrants under the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a federal law enforcement agency. However, ICE has faced severe criticism for their use of force. Most recently, ICE reportedly shot Venezuelan Wilber Rafael Garcés Pérez in the back.
Lending insight into the incident, one X user wrote,
“Wilber remains gravely ill, with the bullet still lodged in his body, and he remains in ICE detention. According to the detainee who spoke with his wife, Wilber appeared discolored, extremely swollen, and in significant pain. Our immediate demands are clear: restore Wilber’s communication privileges and take him back to the hospital. He needs access to appropriate medical care. Thank you to everyone who has continued supporting Wilber and his family.”
Responding to the post, Martina Navratilova slammed ICE as ‘evil’, writing,
“ICE IS EVIL.”
Martina Navratilova rose to prominence as one of the best tennis players in the world during the 1970s and 1980s. While the American retired from tennis in 2006, she has maintained a strong following in the 20 years since, and has often used her platform to champion social issues and share her political opinions.
