The Los Angeles Lakers sent out season-ticket renewal forms this week, and the price increases made it pretty clear where Mark Walter wants to take his $10 billion investment.
Fans got a look at what is coming, and the numbers were not subtle. Word had been going around that Jeanie Buss would stay on as governor for years to come.
She is expected to have about five more years left in the role, and with the 2025-26 season wrapping up soon, some moves already have Walter’s stamp on them.
Sirius XM’s Rob Perez revealed his section will see a 14% jump in seat prices. If balances are not paid in full immediately, a 3% administrative fee gets added on top.

Moreover, reports suggest the adjustments could extend well beyond that figure.
According to ESPN, another veteran Lakers season-ticket holder in the 300 level reached out and shared documents outlining a sizable increase. He is paying $6,192 for his seats this season.
Next year, that goes up to $9,035. Last season, he paid $5,494. That is a 45.9% increase heading into 2026-27 compared to the 12.7% bump from the year before. The difference between those two jumps is tough to overlook.
The Lakers also addressed the upcoming ticket hike in a statement on Saturday.
“We are adjusting season ticket pricing for next season. The updates reflect the current market landscape and demand,” the statement read, per ESPN.
From a business angle, the franchise knows how to sell. Not many teams pack seats in Los Angeles home games like the Lakers do.
However, with Walter’s group running things now, pushing through a big price bump could rub a fan base the wrong way after years of loyalty.
