Leeds United officials have been deployed to make in-person checks on an impressive attacking star ahead of the summer transfer window.
Ruthless Leeds aiming for attacking revamp
Surviving one season in the Premier League is a tough ask. Surviving a second is even tougher. Leeds have done exceptionally well to put themselves on course to avoid the dropzone in their first campaign back in the top flight, but will be well aware of just how quickly things can change.
Get rid before Piroe: Farke must sell Leeds flop who was once worth £40m
Leeds United must get ruthless if they avoid relegation this season and that should see one star head for the exit door.
If the 49ers want to ensure that Leeds become a Premier League mainstay, then they must invest in further reinforcements for Daniel Farke this summer.
The German, himself, has already been in a ruthless mood this season and could show the door to struggling stars like Joel Piroe to make room for suitable additions.
Even after solving his attacking problem with Dominic Calvert-Lewin last summer, those in Yorkshire are still reportedly keen to welcome more firepower in the form of Zan Vipotnik.
The Swansea City man has been excellent in the Championship this season – scoring 22 goals in all competitions – and is more than ready to step up to the Premier League.
Alas, he’s not the only Championship star that the Whites have set their sights on ahead of the summer transfer window. Scienza would also be an impressive addition.
Leeds officials make in-person checks on Scienza
According to ESPN’s Felipe Silva, Leeds officials have made in-person checks on Scienza ahead of a potential summer move. The Southampton star, who recently stole the show in the FA Cup quarter-final against Arsenal, is open to a Premier League move and could yet be on his way to Yorkshire.
It’s easy to see why those at Elland Road are interested in the attacking midfielder.
Coventry City boss Frank Lampard went as far as calling the Brazilian “outstanding” back in December, telling reporters: “He was a big threat the whole game because he can slip out of the way. He can come inside and shoot. He’s an outstanding player in his league.”

Compared to Brenden Aaronson, who plays in the same role, Scienza has simply been a cut above this season. The Brazilian has been involved in double the amount of league goals, created almost twice as many chances and enjoyed a far better take-on success.
Any argument that the Leeds target isn’t ready to perform on the big stage was also put to bed against Arsenal. The Premier League champions elect came knocking and Scienza answered in emphatic fashion.
He’s a man in-demand ahead of the summer transfer window and Leeds should do everything to secure his signature ahead of several rivals.
